Personal Development
Personal development is a process of consciously pursuing growth and improvement in various aspects of life such as skills, knowledge and mind set to achieve personal goals and reach ones full potential. It involves ongoing self-assessment, goal setting and taking steps to enhance abilities and qualities, ultimately leading to a more fulfilling and purposeful life.
At Bader Primary school, we ensure that all children receive a Personalised and Developed curriculum that gives them an understanding of how to make appropriate and sensible decisions, build their determination to succeed and become confident individuals who are aware of the world around them. We provide rich experiences in a coherently planned way – through our curriculum and extra-curricular activities. Children at Bader begin to know and understand their role in society; they have a developing sense of self and contribute positively to their community. They are tolerant and understand that everyone’s voice should be heard and everyone’s views should be acknowledged and respected. They leave primary school equipped with values of respect, empathy, teamwork, determination and pride in their achievements. They are aware of their responsibility as a citizen of the world they live in and have a clear understanding of what is right and wrong.
Our curriculum offer extends beyond the academic to allow all pupils to develop in many diverse aspects of life. This is encapsulated in our Personal Development Curriculum. We aim to ensure that, over their time at Bader Primary, learners receive a Personal Development curriculum that gives them the knowledge that they need to make decisions, to be adaptable to ensure development of their character and personality. We teach positive behaviours that are encapsulated in our Bader Values of Being Happy, Aiming High, Determination, Excellence and Respect. We provide these rich experiences in a coherently planned way – through our curriculum and extra-curricular activities. Children leave Bader with the confidence to try new things and make mistakes, seeing this as an opportunity to grow. Our bespoke curriculum has been designed to get the best out of each and every learner. Children at Bader are resilient, hardworking and driven. They have been taught how to converse respectfully; how to value the responses offered by peers by celebrating ideas that aren’t their own, and how to politely disagree, offering their own thoughts and ideas. They stretch their own thinking by asking questions of both their peers and themselves.
